A couple of weeks ago, Chicago attorney Karen Conti sent me a message on LinkedIn. Karen is frequently invited to host on WGN Radio, and she wanted to know if I was interested in coming on the next Sunday evening to talk about the news business.
I haven’t done that in awhile. My last job as news director here in Chicago was more than two years ago, and I don’t often look back because my focus now is the digital space. But I like and respect Karen, so why not?
Karen decided to take the opportunity to chat about how the TV news business has changed and how social media has filled the void, plus some. I shared some basic tips about using Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn effectively.
I really enjoyed myself, and I thank Karen and the crew at WGN Radio that evening for making me feel right at home.
