1 Million Cups Provides Friendly Feedback For Entrepreneurs

The morning was really cold in Chicago. About 12 degrees to be exact.  Not the kind of morning you are in a rush to get out the door, but I had a date with about 30 other entrepreneurs at the January 2017 “1 Million Cups” event at 1871. Door opened at 8:30am and the first presentation started at 9am sharp. I was invited to talk about TheSocReports, the social media analytics product I co-founded for personal brands.

1 Million Cups” is supported by the Kauffman Foundation and meant to give entrepreneurs a platform to talk about their businesses, the current challenges and field questions in a supportive setting. The talks are free and open to the public. And there’s coffee. Thanks goodness for that!

I pitched, along with Brian Letzter who co-founded a platform, HowDoWe, to help schools with fundraising of special projects. The event itself was over in about an hour, but the audience hung around for another hour or so. Chatting about what they had learned, sharing their own experiences and trading business cards. So I would recommend it as a solid networking event, as well. All in all, a nice way to start the new year!
